So “American Idol” really is falling apart, isn’t it.
Randy Jackson officially announced today he is indeed leaving “Idol” after this season wraps up next week. His statement read:
"Yo! Yo! Yo! To put all of the speculation to the rest, after 12 years of judging on American Idol I have decided it is time to leave after this season,” he says. “I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry. It’s been a life changing opportunity but I am looking forward to focusing on my company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures.”
There have been rumors that Mariah Carey is leaving, that Jennifer Lopez is coming back, that Ryan Seacrest shaves his chest (OK, I went too far), but this is the first confirmed amid all the buzz. Who will be next?? And does this mean we can have high hopes that mentor Harry Connick Jr. will step in and take his place? I’m blushing just thinking about it!
