Sunday, Feb. 24
Food: Enjoy lunch or dinner out at Puerto Vallarta. The family Mexican restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and only serves its dinner menu on Sundays, which includes the Puerto Vallarta special (grilled steak and chicken burrito), Luis’ special (sirloin steak and tortillas or the Cancun Platter (seafood). Or come for brunch and enjoy their Huevos entrees, featuring Chorizo con Huevos (Mexican sausage blended with eggs) and Huevos Rancheros (three eggs overeasy with spicy salsa and Monterery Jack cheese) for $9.95.
Event: Apparently, I’m turning this into an Oscar fun weekend. Icon Lounge will offer a Cinema Falls matinee today, featuring one of this year’s Oscar-nominated best foreign language films, “A Royal Affair.” The movie is rated R and based on a forbidden love affair that sparked a revolution in Denmark in the 18th Century. The film will begin promptly at 3 p.m., and tickets are $11.50. You can order in advance at CinemaFalls.com or you can purchase at the door.
And, at this point, it’d be cruel not to remind you that the 85th Academy Awards will air 7:30 p.m. Sunday on ABC. Red carpet (the best part) begins at 6 p.m.
