‘Les Miz’ won me over

Bravo, “Les Miserables”!

My mom & I spent three hours in the theater yesterday truly swooning at the incredible work completed for what I will absolutely concede is the best film of the year. Yes, I’m surprised to say that, considering I know that musicals are usually not as well received and, well, I really love “Twilight,” but this was indeed such a beautiful film.

I worried Anne Hathaway would annoy me. She didn’t and instead made me cry. I worried I would just crave one scene of dialogue amid all the song. I totally didn’t and instead was longing for a live stage performance after the movie was over. I also worried I would have a hard time following along, but the only thing I had a hard time with was the audience not wanting to stand up and clap as much as I did after every solo was sung. What is wrong with you, people?! Encore! Every member of the ensemble cast was amazing- Hugh Jackman was breathtaking in every scene and even Sacha Baron Cohen impressed me as TheNardier. Good grief.

Well done, Tom Hooper. Now if only we could get a live “Les Miz” performance at the Washington Pavilion …

P.S. Happy “Bachelor” Premiere Day!!
